Most curl treatments fail in menopause for the same reason. They were built for hair that's damaged, dry, or thinning. Not for hair that's structurally different.
Conditioners and oils coat the outside of the hair. They make it feel softer right away. But they can't get inside the strand, which is where the bonds that hold a curl actually live. So your hair ends up softer, smoother, easier to brush. Still flat.
Curl creams and gels work by defining the curls your hair is already making. They give them shape, fight frizz, hold them through the day. But they can't create curl that isn't there to begin with. They enhance what your hair makes. They can't make it for you.
Bond repair (Olaplex, K18) reconnects bonds that have been broken by bleach, heat, or chemical damage. It's genuinely effective for that hair. But hair changed by hormones isn't broken. It's coming in with fewer bonds to begin with. Bond repair can put broken bonds back together. It can't create bonds that were never built.
None of these are bad products. They just weren't built for what menopause changes. Everything you tried was solving a completely different problem.
